The 7th Global Forum on Reinventing Government, hosted for the first time by the United Nations, celebrated a well-attended and stimulating conference of delegates from 122 countries with a Gala Dinner hosted by Forum Spokesperson MBI Al Jaber at his Grand Wien Hotel in Vienna on 27 June 2007.

Following plenary sessions with Heads of State and a series of successful workshops, the dinner honoured Ms. Asha-Rose Migiro, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, and endorsed Mohamed Bin Issa Al Jaber, Chairman of the MBI Al Jaber Foundation, as Spokesperson for the UN Global Forums on Reinventing Government.

The Gala Dinner was attended by Heads of State and Ministers participating in the 7th Global Forum on Reinventing Government which this year is focusing on the theme of “Building Trust in Government”. During her speech, Ms. Migiro acknowledged the vital role of the Forums in exploring strategies and innovations that generate improvements in governance and earn the trust of citizens.

On behalf of the Secretary-General, Ms. Migiro thanked MBI Al Jaber for the role he has played as UN Spokesperson for Global Forums on Reinventing Government. The appointment, made in March 2007, was for MBI Al Jaber’s dedication to governance and public service and his commitment to the promotion of public and private partnerships.
